Ornament Keepsakes

Here are a few different colour combos on some of the cards I sent out this year using the Ornament keepsakes stamps and the Holiday Ornament die set. I did use some Wow powder on the first one as I dont have many SU embossing powders. The other colours on the top one are Basic Grey and Cherry Cobbler, on the second one Lucky Limeade and the third one Pool Party, Island Indigo and Midnight Muse. I just added some elastic and various ribbons from my stash. Some have gems and glitter glue ans the third one has added dimension with some of the other stamps in the set.

I hope you have a wonderful christmas and I leave you with a little video from everyone at Stampin'Up

Merry Christmas

Another Holiday Frame card

This card is the more clean and simple version of the Holiday frame card I featured in my last post. Not the best photo but you get the idea. The cardstock and embossing powder is Cherry Cobbler, the "Noel" is from the Joyous celebrations stamp set. The oval is the extra large punch and the embossed shape behind is one of the labels framelits cut in Cherry card and then embossed with the oval embossing folder from the Designer Frames Folder set. Some white ribbon and some gem stones in each corner to finish. I have also spritzed it with some of the Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz, but unfortunately its not showing in the photo.

Back tomorrow with different versions of my main Christmas card I made this year, featuring the Ornament stamp set and dies.

I hope you are safe and warm at home and not out and about in the christmas maddness!!

Holiday Frame Christmas card

Cards are all done and posted so hopefully I will now have more time for blogging. This is another card I made for a class recently. I used the Holiday frame embossing folder with the new Coredinations cardstock in Early Espresso. This comes in 12x12 sheets and Stampin'Up have a sanding block and cleaner to remove the dust. The stamps come from the Joyus Celebrations set and the frame is stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink and the reindeer in the Early Espresso ink. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set and the cardstock is Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green. Punches used are the new extra larger oval punch and the Modern Label punch. Finished off with some Cherry Cobbler seam binding.

Back next time with the same embossing folder but a completely different look.

Ornament Keepsakes

I had a class with a lovely craft group the other week and we did 3 Christmas cards, heres the first one. The set is probably the most popular stamp set ever, gorgeous baubles with co-ordinating dies. I went with a slightly diferent colour combo that the usual Early Espresso, Pool Party and Island Indigo. The sentiment is from the Curly Cute stamp set. The main baubles were stamped and then die cut on White cardstock. The centres were stamped and the circle punched with a circle punch, the oval one was cut with scissors. The small brown bauble was stamped onto the cardstock directly and the centre stamped and punched out again and attached with foam pads.

There is alot happening within Stampin'Up at the moment and the new year will see lots of exciting things coming but one of the most eagerly awaiting is the Stampin'Up trimmer. I have a basket full of trimmers from several companies I have collected over the years but they all have the same fault....the extension hinge folds between the 5" and 6" marks. so cutting to any increments inbetween is difficult. The SU one has a larger cutting area and is £22.95 and is available to buy now, if anyone is interested heres a little video.

Back tomorrow with an embossed card

class cards

I have lots to catch up on with my Stampin'Up cards so here is another card I did in class a while back. I used the fab new Snowflake die, together with some adheshive paper and diamonds glitter. The card base is Sahara Sand and I used Early Espresso cardstock with the Holiday frame embossing folder. The new oval punch is behind the snowflake. I used a sentiment from the Teeny Tiny sentiments set and punched it out with the Modern Label punch.  I finished off with some twine. I like this colour combo, something a bit different to blues.

The next card uses some of the lovely fabric from the Twitterpated range, I ironed interfacing on the back and run it through the Big Shot using a flower die { now retired} but there are lots of new dies that you could now use. I popped a spotty brad through the middle and punched a border with the Dotty Ribbon border punch with Island Indigo cardstock, then again with Cherry Cobbler and I attached it to the side so only one side of the dots showed. The swirl is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink and is from the Everything Eleanor set. Then I stamped the sentiment onto the Curly Label punch and thats from the For My Family set. The patterened paper on the back is from the Twitterpated paper collection.

Back tomorrow with some Christmas cards.

Make a Mitten

On saturday I had a class using some of the products from the new catalogues, first one I am showing uses the Make a Mitten set from the Sesonal book. There is a punch to match the mittens but they are easily cut out if you dont have it. All the colouring was done with the Marker pens, just give a huff on the stamp when you have finished applying your pens to the stamp and it will stamp brilliantly. The snowflakes in the background are not showing us so well in the photo but in real life they are shimmery and pearly as I used the shimmer paint on a dauber to apply directly to the stamp. Love those border stamps which come in the Mittens stamp set and the gorgeous Lucky Limeade Bakers Twine. Quick and easy card great for mass production!

Products used:

Stamps: Make a Mitten and Curly Cute {sentiment}
Marker Pens/cardstock: Rose Red, Indigo Blue and Lucky Limeade
Punches: Ribbon border
Thread: Bakers Twine in Lucky Limeade
Embossing folder: Perfect polka Dots
Others: Shimmer Paint

Introducing 2012/13 In Colours

With the release of a new catalogue, 5 new colours have been brought into the Stampin'Up colour groups. These join last years 5 colours in the In Colour collection to make a family of 10 like the others.

I made this little notelets last night with the My Friend stamp set, which I am so glad has been kept in this years book. The round circle  stamp in the set was stamped on the background and also stamped on white cardstock and punched out with 1 1/4" circle punch and then another circle punched in each colour card with a 1 3/8" circle punch and cut in half. It was also my first chance to use the new style ink pads since they have changed the formualtion....love them!

A closer view of each card colour

Summer Fruit and Primrose Petals

Gumball Green, Midnight Muse and Raspberry Ripple

There are matching ribbons, resin flowers, marker pens, patterened cardstock packs in all these fab new colours.

Diamond Wedding

The 24th May is a very important day in my diary....its another double celebration with my youngest sons birthday and my mum and dads wedding anniversary. This year though is a special year....18 years ago today I gave birth to my son and 60 years ago today my parents got married. To see my card for Andrew pop over to my other card blog. My parents card was made with Stampin'Up products except for the 60th and the diamond wording, only because I dont have anything suitable in my Su stamp stash.

First of all the stamps....Apothecary Art from the new mini catalogue. I stamped this simply in Silver pigment ink and then I stamped the "Congratulations" stamp from Curly Cute. My orginal idea was to stamp and emboss with silver embossing powder but after a quick rummage in my bags remembered "its a box" somewhere all packed up for the move....{ I would be very rich if I had a pound for everytime I have said that already these past few weeks!!}

The stamp was then cut out with the framelits dies and I cut another on in Silver mirror card. The diagonals on the back was done with a scoring board. I do not have the SU one yet but its on my wish list as its got a diagonal plate which would have been much easier for me to use.

Finally I used some of the white satin ribbon to make a bow and I used the word window punch for the diamond sentiment. Each cross over had a diamond gem attached....I know its abit ott buts its not often I make a diamond wedding card..lol!! I also found some hat pins which I attached behind the ribbon...these can be brought at most good craft shops.

Hope you are all enjoying the fab weather, back soon before I loose touch for a while.

Last few weeks of Sale-a-bration

With everything else going on recently I have not had time to play with anything from the mini catalogue let alone the SAB promo but I have had a couple of birthdays this past week and decided it was time to play with the fab papers that are free when your order over £45.00. They are similar in design, I have just used different stamping techniques.

First one...

uses the My friend stamp set from the mini catalogue and I have stamped with white pigment ink and then embossed with white embossing powder. First time I have played with the ribbon punch and check out the dotty brads in the In colours collection. The colours in the papers are Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Peach Parfait, Calypso Coral, Poppy Parade, Very Vanilla and Soft Suede. The patterened papers are called Everyday Enchantment. The sentiment is from the Curly Cute set. All finshed off with some seam binding.

The second one ......

was going to be sent abroad so I did not want to add brads so I added some of the Sizzlet Button dies instead. I just stamped the main image with Luck Limeade ink and I added the Hello wording from the My Friend set. Really love this colour palette, so fresh looking!

If anyone wants to order anything I am placing an order this weekend.
