Make a Mitten

On saturday I had a class using some of the products from the new catalogues, first one I am showing uses the Make a Mitten set from the Sesonal book. There is a punch to match the mittens but they are easily cut out if you dont have it. All the colouring was done with the Marker pens, just give a huff on the stamp when you have finished applying your pens to the stamp and it will stamp brilliantly. The snowflakes in the background are not showing us so well in the photo but in real life they are shimmery and pearly as I used the shimmer paint on a dauber to apply directly to the stamp. Love those border stamps which come in the Mittens stamp set and the gorgeous Lucky Limeade Bakers Twine. Quick and easy card great for mass production!

Marker Pens/cardstock: Rose Red, Indigo Blue and Lucky Limeade

Others: Shimmer Paint

Introducing 2012/13 In Colours

With the release of a new catalogue, 5 new colours have been brought into the Stampin'Up colour groups. These join last years 5 colours in the In Colour collection to make a family of 10 like the others.

I made this little notelets last night with the My Friend stamp set, which I am so glad has been kept in this years book. The round circle  stamp in the set was stamped on the background and also stamped on white cardstock and punched out with 1 1/4" circle punch and then another circle punched in each colour card with a 1 3/8" circle punch and cut in half. It was also my first chance to use the new style ink pads since they have changed the formualtion....love them!

A closer view of each card colour

Summer Fruit and Primrose Petals

Gumball Green, Midnight Muse and Raspberry Ripple

There are matching ribbons, resin flowers, marker pens, patterened cardstock packs in all these fab new colours.

Diamond Wedding

The 24th May is a very important day in my diary....its another double celebration with my youngest sons birthday and my mum and dads wedding anniversary. This year though is a special year....18 years ago today I gave birth to my son and 60 years ago today my parents got married. To see my card for Andrew pop over to my other card blog. My parents card was made with Stampin'Up products except for the 60th and the diamond wording, only because I dont have anything suitable in my Su stamp stash.

First of all the stamps....Apothecary Art from the new mini catalogue. I stamped this simply in Silver pigment ink and then I stamped the "Congratulations" stamp from Curly Cute. My orginal idea was to stamp and emboss with silver embossing powder but after a quick rummage in my bags remembered "its a box" somewhere all packed up for the move....{ I would be very rich if I had a pound for everytime I have said that already these past few weeks!!}

The stamp was then cut out with the framelits dies and I cut another on in Silver mirror card. The diagonals on the back was done with a scoring board. I do not have the SU one yet but its on my wish list as its got a diagonal plate which would have been much easier for me to use.

Finally I used some of the white satin ribbon to make a bow and I used the word window punch for the diamond sentiment. Each cross over had a diamond gem attached....I know its abit ott buts its not often I make a diamond wedding card..lol!! I also found some hat pins which I attached behind the ribbon...these can be brought at most good craft shops.

Hope you are all enjoying the fab weather, back soon before I loose touch for a while.
