Holiday Frame Christmas card

Cards are all done and posted so hopefully I will now have more time for blogging. This is another card I made for a class recently. I used the Holiday frame embossing folder with the new Coredinations cardstock in Early Espresso. This comes in 12x12 sheets and Stampin'Up have a sanding block and cleaner to remove the dust. The stamps come from the Joyus Celebrations set and the frame is stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink and the reindeer in the Early Espresso ink. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set and the cardstock is Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green. Punches used are the new extra larger oval punch and the Modern Label punch. Finished off with some Cherry Cobbler seam binding.

Back next time with the same embossing folder but a completely different look.

Ornament Keepsakes

I had a class with a lovely craft group the other week and we did 3 Christmas cards, heres the first one. The set is probably the most popular stamp set ever, gorgeous baubles with co-ordinating dies. I went with a slightly diferent colour combo that the usual Early Espresso, Pool Party and Island Indigo. The sentiment is from the Curly Cute stamp set. The main baubles were stamped and then die cut on White cardstock. The centres were stamped and the circle punched with a circle punch, the oval one was cut with scissors. The small brown bauble was stamped onto the cardstock directly and the centre stamped and punched out again and attached with foam pads.

There is alot happening within Stampin'Up at the moment and the new year will see lots of exciting things coming but one of the most eagerly awaiting is the Stampin'Up trimmer. I have a basket full of trimmers from several companies I have collected over the years but they all have the same fault....the extension hinge folds between the 5" and 6" marks. so cutting to any increments inbetween is difficult. The SU one has a larger cutting area and is £22.95 and is available to buy now, if anyone is interested heres a little video.

Back tomorrow with an embossed card

class cards

I have lots to catch up on with my Stampin'Up cards so here is another card I did in class a while back. I used the fab new Snowflake die, together with some adheshive paper and diamonds glitter. The card base is Sahara Sand and I used Early Espresso cardstock with the Holiday frame embossing folder. The new oval punch is behind the snowflake. I used a sentiment from the Teeny Tiny sentiments set and punched it out with the Modern Label punch.  I finished off with some twine. I like this colour combo, something a bit different to blues.

The next card uses some of the lovely fabric from the Twitterpated range, I ironed interfacing on the back and run it through the Big Shot using a flower die { now retired} but there are lots of new dies that you could now use. I popped a spotty brad through the middle and punched a border with the Dotty Ribbon border punch with Island Indigo cardstock, then again with Cherry Cobbler and I attached it to the side so only one side of the dots showed. The swirl is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink and is from the Everything Eleanor set. Then I stamped the sentiment onto the Curly Label punch and thats from the For My Family set. The patterened paper on the back is from the Twitterpated paper collection.

Back tomorrow with some Christmas cards.

Make a Mitten

On saturday I had a class using some of the products from the new catalogues, first one I am showing uses the Make a Mitten set from the Sesonal book. There is a punch to match the mittens but they are easily cut out if you dont have it. All the colouring was done with the Marker pens, just give a huff on the stamp when you have finished applying your pens to the stamp and it will stamp brilliantly. The snowflakes in the background are not showing us so well in the photo but in real life they are shimmery and pearly as I used the shimmer paint on a dauber to apply directly to the stamp. Love those border stamps which come in the Mittens stamp set and the gorgeous Lucky Limeade Bakers Twine. Quick and easy card great for mass production!

Products used:

Stamps: Make a Mitten and Curly Cute {sentiment}
Marker Pens/cardstock: Rose Red, Indigo Blue and Lucky Limeade
Punches: Ribbon border
Thread: Bakers Twine in Lucky Limeade

Others: Shimmer Paint

Introducing 2012/13 In Colours

With the release of a new catalogue, 5 new colours have been brought into the Stampin'Up colour groups. These join last years 5 colours in the In Colour collection to make a family of 10 like the others.

I made this little notelets last night with the My Friend stamp set, which I am so glad has been kept in this years book. The round circle  stamp in the set was stamped on the background and also stamped on white cardstock and punched out with 1 1/4" circle punch and then another circle punched in each colour card with a 1 3/8" circle punch and cut in half. It was also my first chance to use the new style ink pads since they have changed the formualtion....love them!

A closer view of each card colour

Summer Fruit and Primrose Petals

Gumball Green, Midnight Muse and Raspberry Ripple

There are matching ribbons, resin flowers, marker pens, patterened cardstock packs in all these fab new colours.
